Anti-Capitalist Feeder March - Oct 2002

No blood for oil! No atrocities in our name!

Saturday, October 26, 2002: 10:30am
Gather at the Columbia Heights Metro Stop
(14 and Irving, NW)

Call to all Anti-Capitalists, Anarchists and Revolutionaries...

October 26: If you're coming to DC; if you're headed downtown - Join Us! A feeder march and Anti-Capitalist Contingent in Solidarity with the "Stop The War Before It Starts" March and Rally in Downtown DC.

When we say Stop the War on Iraq, we know that peace will not exist as long as capitalism and governments do. We know that we can't stop the war before it starts, because the war has already begun. The war on Iraq started long ago, US sanctions on Iraq have already taken the lives of at least 500,000 Iraqi children...

In reality the war is on all of us and the war is everywhere.

In Washington DC the war is certainly on: The rich are closing hospitals and schools, cutting all social services, providing welfare only to corporations and the rich, gentrifying the city, increasing poverty and homelessness, robbing the people blind, while waging bloody wars for oil and global domination in the Middle East and around the world.

If you recognize these connections as a war on the world by Governments, and Capitalism, if you believe in a world free of capitalism and domination, where ones access to human needs isn't determined by ones economic means, if you believe in fighting for a world free of racism, sexism, homophobia and environmental destruction, if you want to mobilize for global justice or converge against capitalism, if you are bored and frustrated by death by speakers rallies, unrelenting newspaper peddling and preaching, and the overall authoritarian, vanguard atmosphere of protest as usual but see the importance of being in the streets with thousands to protest this war on Iraq and this war on the world, join us for a feeder march starting in Columbia Heights.

We'll start in the neighborhoods being effected by capitalist greed and war right here in Washington DC and we'll wind our way through the city:

To demand affordable and accessible housing for all, we'll march past the Upper Cardozo health clinic...

To demand affordable housing, we'll march past the La Casa homeless shelter...

To demand good education for our all, we'll march past the Cardoza High School...

To demand an end to gentrification, we'll march through the Logan Circle/Shaw Neighborhood...

To demand an end to corporate control of the media and an end to media lies, we'll march past the Washington Post...

To take a stand against undemocratic, authoritarian, unwanted, unelected corporate rule, we'll march past the White House...

At the White House we'll take off our shirts, because Bush and his thugs will take the shirts off our backs (along with housing, healthcare, education...and more) to pay for their Imperialist War...

and to demand that thousands more lives are not needlessly slaughtered, we'll proudly march to the Vietnam War Memorial...

At the Vietnam War Memorial we'll join the massive protest, march and rally to stop the war on Iraq. Look for the "Iraqi War Memorial" Banner, the "Bush is taking the shirts off our backs to pay for this war" banner, and tons of anti-capitalist, and anti war flags to march in solidarity as a bloc in the larger march...
