About the ACC
The Washington DC Anti-Capitalist Convergence was a coalition of anti-capitalist activists organizing locally, nationally and internationally, under the Principles of Unity to put an end to the oppressive and destructive capitalist system. The ACC originally formed in 2001, to coordinate protests during the World Bank/IMF meetings in Sept. 2001. The ACC continued to organize protests and other anti-capitalist activities in the DC area, including the People's Strike in Sept. 2002.
Following the People's Strike, members of the ACC moved on to other anti-capitalist projects and local activism in DC. This website is being maintained as an archive of information about the ACC's past convergences and events.
