word. i stand in solidarity with everyone working actively to create a more just world. i'll see you in DC.
your use of the word militant to describe your anti-war activism strikes me as ironic though. if we're going to take part in an anarchist revolution, do we wanted to be founded on the same violence we are striving to stop? i am a mother and know that the best way to teach a child to stop hitting is not to hit them. there is a human, with a family, behind every institution that causes the injustice that we rage against. we have to understand our common ground if we're ever going to live in a just world with them, they're not going to disappear. peaceful process takes longer and requires patience (as anyone who has done consensus-based decision-making understands). that's why war-makers choose war. violence is fast. but the outcome of non-violence is always more solid and sustainable than the wreckage, defeat and division left in the wake of violent militarism. let me know what you think. i'd love to change the world with you.

That's wierd, I remember posting a comment yesterday and now it has magically dissapeared... have those who preach equality and all voices are to heard just silence disent? maybe if I made a formal response instead of just poking fun at your thoughtless banter...

Obama is a politician like all the others, he says what needs to be said to win elections. He held left of center during the primaries to get your votes then slid back to the center so not to sound as nuts as some of you (i.e. 9/11 conspiracies and hate for this great nation).

maybe 20 years from now when history begins to judge, the real intellectuals will see what a small sacrifice of good men and women did to bring freedom to the great many... those fighting and dying believe that each human should have a chance to live in hope and not fear of suicide bombings.

the real problem with some of you is that you just won't admit that their is PURE EVIL out there wanting to destroy YOU and ME. you have choosen life over death and free speech over terrany, they choose their sick and twisted way or else (else being C4 strapped to a mentally handicapped girl and having her walk into a crowd while the coward activates the bomb a safe distance away).

I could go on but I think I've said enough on what is an old post.

ohh one more thing, we leave when the job is done and Iraqis can defend their own country! thanks

I couldn't agree more. I'm not affiliated with ANSWER but my brother and I planned on coming from Allentown PA to register our disgust. My brother and I were planning doing our own thing on the 21st. I've had it with all the promises. I supported the President primarily on his pledge to withdraw all troops from Iraq. Now, I hear that we may not withdraw combat troops for 16 months and still leave thousands of troops to occupy for years to come. This is not what I voted for.
